This article is a review of the Rikon 10-3061 10″ Deluxe Bandsaw. I have owned this bandsaw for over two years, and it has been a great product. The saw ran smoothly, assembly was not very difficult, and there were no damages to the product upon arriving at my house.

I have used this bandsaw to cut wood for many projects around my house, including shelves, tables, cabinets, signs, and more. It cuts through hardwoods such as oak and maple with ease and makes precision cuts that needn’t be filed or sanded afterward. Even when cutting non-ferrous metals like brass and aluminum, the blade doesn’t seem to dull much at all, and it leaves a smooth and clean cut.

The frame of the saw is coated in oil that protects metal from rusting when left out in the elements, but when I moved into my new apartment this past year, it was stored in its box for months, and after one rainstorm afterward, rust had formed on the blade and handle. I would recommend wiping excess water off of these parts to prevent this from happening; however, after contacting Rikon, they were very helpful and quickly sent me replacements.

About the product

The Rikon 10-3061 is a 10″ bandsaw that features an advanced cutting system for improved accuracy and longer blade life. It also has a quick-release tension lever that allows for easy blade changes, safety shields to protect the user during operation, a cast-iron tabletop for increased stability, a large aluminum alloy grip handle to make transportation easier, adjustable feet to help level the unit on uneven surfaces.

It can cut up to 2-1/2″ outside diameter with its 4-5/8″ re-saw capacity. It does this by having edge-facing thrust bearings which stabilize the motor during re-sawing operations. The frame of the saw is coated in oil that protects metal from rusting when left out in the elements, but when I moved into my new apartment this past year, it was stored in its box for months, and after one rainstorm afterward, rust had formed on the blade and handle.

The Rikon 10-3061 is powered by a corded electric motor at 115 volts with 0.33 horsepower, which according to their website, is equivalent to about 1/3 of what most other units on the market use. It has a 10″ (0.25) polyurethane blade that rotates at 3450 RPMs while using 43 amps, making it an appropriate choice for metal cutting but also quite powerful enough for re-sawing wood like oak or maple. The saw itself weighs 82 pounds and measures 35.5 x 18 x 13 inches.

Conclusion

Overall I have been very pleased with the Rikon 10-3061 10″ Deluxe Bandsaw. It is a powerful and well-made tool that makes clean cuts through hardwoods like oak or maple consistently every time I use it. The safety features are also great to have because accidents happen, but they are easily prevented by being mindful of your surroundings when using this bandsaw.

I would recommend the Rikon brand to anybody who is looking for an affordable but powerful bandsaw or who needs any other tools for metalworking or woodworking projects around their home.
